Hoyt puck only as of October 7, 2020

Hello fellow riders,

rider safety is and always has been at the very top of our priority list. There are inherent risks to using our products and while we strive to always push the limits, we strive to do so in the safest possible way and keep the risk as low as possible (knowing it's impossible to completely eliminate it) all the while paving the way.

We have been using the Flipsky VX1 remote for 2 years now. The VX1 was and is still a DIY favorite since it's small, easy to use, has a few features and up until recently, was very reliable.

Unfortunately, the latest batch of VX1 remotes we have received has appeared not to be as reliable. While testing them in house, we rejected quite a few as they didn't connect well and would drop signal. And for the VX1s that we shipped, some started being problematic after a few rides in the hands of our riders.

This is unacceptable for us and we have decided to move on to using exclusively the Hoyt puck from now on. While it doesn't indicate the board's state of charge like the VX1 does, it's a solid remote whom's connection doesn't fault.

If you already own a Lacroix board, here is what you need to know;

      • if you have ordered a board after July 1st 2020 with a VX1 remote and have been experiencing hiccups, we can either;
        • send you a new VX1 from a fresh batch we have just received - hopefully this new batch of VX1 solves the hiccups.
        • provide you a 40% discount on upgrading to a Hoyt puck (this is less than our cost). To install the new puck in your VX1 controlled board, you will need to follow this procedure
      • if you have ordered a board with a VX1 remote in the last few weeks that has not yet shipped, we can either;
        • send you your board with this fresh batch of VX1
        • provide you a 40% discount on upgrading to a Hoyt puck (this is less than our cost). To install the new puck in your VX1 controlled board, you will need to follow this procedure.

Moving forward, we have decided that we would only ship the boards with Hoyt pucks which have been consistently reliable - when and if issues arise, Jeff Johnson (CEO of Hoyt) takes matters very seriously and acts swiftly.

All our prices have been adjusted accordingly by USD100.
